David & Tammy Campbell

Both Tammy and I want to thank all of you for your patronage this past year. The customers we have met and friends we have made throughout the year are  ‘priceless’.  We thank you from the bottom our hearts and wish God’s blessings for all of you.

Tammy redesigned the Wine Shop to better serve your needs. She has featured new items not only for the ‘Wine Aficionado’ but made the shop operationally efficient and pleasing. The internet business was enhanced and will continue to evolve for ease of ordering and purchases of our items in stock. Chocolate Wine was a hit this year along with the all ways popular Holiday wines; Alpenglow, Alpenglow Blanc and Pumpkin Wine, which sells out faster each year.

The shop is getting ready for Valentine’s Day; if you need a great way to say “I Love You”, then say it with a personalized label on a great bottle of Little Hills Wine or our other great wines in stock. Look for many changes in 2010!

The Little Hills Winery produced more wine this year than ever before. We still however, run out of wines thorough out the year as we continue to grow. Our goal at the winery includes additional tanks to help keep up with our increased production.  Phil continues to do a great job as our Wine Maker. We added Berry Blueberry Wine and a Norton Reserve Wine this year. Rivers Bend was just bottled and we still have some heated holiday wines left ,which won’t last long. Look for a Chambourcin and Cranberry wine to our list next year.

The Little Hills Restaurant expanded its Wine List to compliment the newly expanded menu. We believe that it is imperative to enhance our current menu items and add menu items to keep up with new taste trends our customers want. We will be offering ‘Gluten Free’ options along with ‘Lighter Fair’ items in all areas of our menu. The redesign of our menu will be completed in the spring and encourage you to come in and taste our new menu selections. Our Menu was developed around a “Fresh and Fast” approach. We are excited to offer such a large selection. Please look at our menu on the web-site to preview all the new items then come by to try them for yourself!

We hosted three Murder Mystery Dinners in 2009 and currently have scheduled the next one on Friday January 29, 2010.  “A Fist Full of Hollers” will be the theme and we encourage everyone to come dressed in a “Cowboy” theme! This is a great time with friends, family or your business associates. Register on line through the web-site.

In addition to menu, our restaurant has experienced some updates too!  We refurbished our two large fire pits this year and just built 5 additional gas fire pits to the courtyard and hope you all enjoy the comfort and atmosphere they provide. We updated our décor inside the restaurant and added some TV’s – Whether it is a sporting, entertainment or current event, enjoy your wine and dine experience while watching.

Thank you for all your input. We continue to listen and improve our operation. Should you ever have an experience, good or bad that need our attention, please contact us through the web-site, e-mail or by phone at our office, 636.946.9165.

Have a blessed New Year!

Owners – Little Hills Winery, Restaurant and Wine Shop

Both Tammy and myself are excited to feature some of our wonderful staff at Little Hills Winery.  We realize that our people are the most important part of the success of our business and are extremely proud of their efforts and loyalty.  We want to start 2010 by featuring Cedric Sutton, Assistant Manager for Little Hills Winery.

Cedric Sutton

Cedric is married with 4 daughters and has lived in St. Charles for 11 years.  2010 marks his 5th year at Little Hills.

My wife Michelle is a native to St. Charles and moved here after our wedding. My wife works as a Geriatric Medical Technician in St. Charles. My work background is both in the restaurant field and social services. I worked with mentally disabled adults in the Bellefontaine Rehabilitation Center. This work made a profound impact on my life and my hopes are to open a Non Profit organization for the mentally disabled adults with the goal of teaching independent skills in worship in a Christian Setting.

Before coming to work for Little Hills Restaurant in May of 2005, I worked for Denny’s Corporation for over 8 years. I helped open many stores in the region and left the company due to a cut back in store openings and recent closures. Having been a customer to Little Hills Restaurant I was impressed by the food and service we received as customers. The day I applied at Little Hills, I spoke directly to David Campbell, who with his wife Tammy own the fine restaurant. David shock my hand and had me fill out the application and set up an interview. I was impressed that the owner works on site and felt that this would not only be a great opportunity but would be a learning and growing experience as a small business provides.

I like the atmosphere here at Little Hills, the dining experience is great and the quality of life I enjoy is most enjoyable. David does not allow me to work too many hours as setting priorities and balance in my life is as important to him as it is to me. I also learned after I was hired that both Tammy and David seek to run their business in a ‘Christian values’ that was a pleasant surprise for me.

My biggest surprise was that my employment with Little Hills allowed me to continue my pursuit of my degree in Christian Ministry and a minor in Bible history. I currently am working toward my Masters in Pastoral Theology which I should finish in late 2010 or early in 2011. I hope to begin my mentoring as a Chaplin in a local Hospital or local Christian based school.

I would recommend to anyone that is looking for a job or career in the restaurant industry to seriously look at Little hills for the opportunity in learning in a professional personal setting. It helps with both discipline in business but is family friendly.

I hope that everyone who comes into Little Hills Restaurant & Winery enjoys the experience that a small local Winery which makes its own wine in 150 year old caverns, has a great experience in tasting local wine or enjoying newly expanded menu. We are open for lunch and dinner every day and now feature a plate breakfast on Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Little Hills is a destination and the atmosphere is unmatched. Stop in and ask for my as I would enjoy the opportunity to meet you. The Lobster Ravioli is the best in the Mid-West!
